Camille Albane Upscale Hair Salon Opens in Dallas

Camille Albane is bringing chic, urban “Rive Gauche” sophistication and European hairstyling techniques to Dallas, and I got a first-hand sneak peek of the gorgeous new Addison salon!

Camille Albane Paris is recognized for launching the hand-painted highlighting balayage technique in the 1970’s. Camille Albane now has about 300 salons in more than 11 countries, and I’m so excited that they’ve arrived in Dallas Fort Worth! Unfortunately, I got a little fed-up with my Korean salon hair color, so I had just dyed my hair black at-home. I really wanted to try the balayage, but was afraid the black wouldn’t lift. Instead, I went in for a haircut/trim and will definitely be booking a balayage appointment in the next few months!

Walking into the salon, I was immediately struck by the gorgeous natural light, clean design, and modern fixtures. My stylist David, who is also the manager of the salon, discussed my hair and haircare regimen with me. When I told him I was really looking for a style that was low-maintenance for the summer, he recommended cutting a few face-framing layers which would add volume/texture and give me some versatility in styling options.

He escorted me to the back of the salon for my shampoo. With every haircut, they include a complimentary scalp massage with a special conditioning oil and spray. It smelled divine, and left my hair so shiny! Camille Albane has their own line of haircare products. He used a special shampoo and conditioner for brunettes on my hair. While he was shampooing my hair, I watched a video of a recent hair show in Paris which was playing on the TV screen. David explained to me that all of their stylists are internationally-trained by the Parisian experts I was watching.

After the shampoo, David wrapped my hair in an origami flower towel– a special touch exclusive to the salon. It seems like such a little detail, but I loved it and was immediately aware that their standards go above and beyond the typical salon. In fact, all of the hair tools at Camille Albane, including hair brushes and clips, are sanitized and sealed in plastic wrap for hygienic purposes.

David cut my hair with precision, and gave me some helpful tips while he was styling my hair. He recommended using a ceramic round brush for blowouts, and holding the brush in your hair for a few seconds after you finish drying the section for added smoothness (it acts almost like a ceramic flat iron would). He also used a couple products in my hair for added bounce and texture.

I left the salon with my hair feeling healthier and shinier than it has been in years.

The style and shine lasted throughout the entire day, which was perfect because we scheduled our May Diversity Chic photosession that evening! Here’s a sneak peek from the shoot, and a testament to the staying power of a Camille Albane blowout!
