I mentioned in my post yesterday how I’ve struggled with pressures of being a “fashion blogger” and feeling like I should be buying new clothes to wear and link to them for the sake of affiliate networks. Even when trying to save money by digging through old pieces to recycle, I realized that I don’t fit in many of them anymore. It was a disheartening period for me… the wardrobe slump of ’14.
Thankfully, I have stylish and practical friends, like my go-to stylist Dionne Dean, who helped give me a more adult perspective on fashion and pull me out of the pity party I threw when Forever 21 skirts stopped fitting. (Shameless plug, Dionne is the queen of thrifting and recently launched a new Thrift Box business where you can order a box of vintage items hand-selected for you!)
I’m still in the process of rebuilding my wardrobe with properly-fitted items that are age-appropriate, but in the meantime, I’ve been taking a long hard look at my closet. I’m probably the worst online shopper you’ve met– I buy things online impulsively, get so excited when they arrive that I anxiously tear off the price tags before I even try them on, and don’t bother to return them when they fail to fit.
However, my loss (and poor shopping sense) is your gain! I’ve teamed up with some of my favorite local DFW Fashion and Style Bloggers for a pop-up sale at Zoomos in Dallas’ Bishop Arts District. Join us tomorrow, Friday, January 30th from 6-8pm and shop our closets!
Here are the bloggers who will be participating. Check out their websites to see their individual styles and what you might expect from their closets…
