Diversity Chic: Floral Print With Sandals

Diversity Chic: Floral Print With Sandals | Stephanie Drenka

Each month, it has become increasingly difficult to pick out a Diversity Chic theme and attempt to top the previous installment. This time around, we decided to put our “best feet forward” and tackle two quintessential summer fashion trends: sandals and florals.

Floral patterns always remind me of my Easter dresses when I was younger. I wanted to focus on the grown-up way to wear florals fashionably. Florals are flirty and feminine, so I knew instantly which pair of sandals I wanted to wear for this outfit!

These Steve Madden strappy sandals have been a favorite of mine since I purchased them last year. They are so delicate and flattering! But I still haven’t figured out how to stand/walk in them for long periods of time, so I typically save them for special occasions. This pretty much dictated the rest of my ensemble– I styled them with a dressier outfit, ideal maybe for a wedding or date night!

Both the floral crop top and scuba midi skirt were from Forever 21. (Basically my whole summer wardrobe has been from them this year!) I purchase both of these pieces because they were so versatile. The crop top is actually part of a set– I also purchased these matching culottes.

I’m loving everyone’s different take on these trends! Jordan managed to incorporate both trends in her gorgeous floral sandals. Valery went for a bold look, mixing two different floral pieces with her amaaaazing white chunky sandals. Sevi brightened up the bunch with her colorful floral skirt and sunny top. Her espadrilles are so perfect for summer–dying for a pair myself.

We hope you enjoyed this month’s Diversity Chic installment! Special thanks to the Irving Convention Center for providing the perfect staircase for our backdrop. And thank you to my sweet husband, Holden, for climbing up the steps in the Texas heat after a long day of work to shoot our group pictures!

What trends would you like to see Diversity Chic tackle in the next few months? Jordan, Valery, Sevi, and I love to hear feedback!!
