Diversity Chic: Leopard Print

Diversity Chic: Leopard Print | Stephanie Drenka

Ladies and Gentlemen, I know it’s been a long month in anticipation of the next #DiversityChic feature! Fear not- we’re back and ready to take on the Dallas fashion scene with our latest blogger collaboration. If you’re just joining and missed our introductory feature, click here to catch up.

Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style.

Our focus is to explore the world of fashion in its unique, diverse, and stylish manner – one trend at a time.

This month’s featured trend is leopard print. Originally, we had a plan to wear our winter white outfits, but a rainy forecast made us reconsider. We opted for leopard, and once again, all of us ended up randomly wearing a different item in the classic print.

Sevi killed it in her vest, I wore an infinity scarf from Express (not currently available, but here is a similar one), Valery wore a bodycon dress covered in an amazing tulle skirt, and Jordan highlighted the trend with her adorable flats.

We had so much fun shooting these group pictures. Big thanks to my sweet husband for stepping in as photographer. The best part of the whole evening (besides finally nailing the walking pose), was celebrating at Twisted Root afterwards. Nothing like adult milkshakes and frickles (fried pickles) to commemorate a successful photoshoot!

As much as I love leopard, it has always intimidated me a bit. In my mind, I imagine that I’ll look like a Korean Snooki or something wearing too much of the print. So I stuck to my basics– white oversized crop top and black culottes, and threw on a leopard print infinity scarf. I LOVE this scarf. I actually bought it in three colors, classic leopard, this gray one, and also a green one. My mom loves them, too, so we end up sharing! As I inch closer to my thirties, I find myself taking a cue from my mom– building a minimalist wardrobe with mostly black, white, and gray pieces, but using accessories to make outfits more interesting.
