Diversity Chic: Spring Fever

Diversity Chic: Spring Fever | Stephanie Drenka

It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want — oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! (Mark Twain)

Spring has officially sprung at The Vintage House in downtown Carrollton, and I know exactly what I want– #allthethings. Sweet Nan (owner of The Vintage House) let us play dress up with the latest Vera Bradley and Kendra Scott accessories so we could celebrate springtime in style!

We were especially excited to have our friend Denise from Beauty and the Pleats join us again for this month’s photoshoot. We had to reschedule our original shoot due to April showers, but enjoyed finally getting to spend time together last weekend. Despite the gusts of wind that interrupted our session, I think these may be some of my favorite DC pictures yet.

When Sevi first told me that Nan was going to let us showcase the new Kendra Scott summer collection, I knew I wanted to wear these gorgeous Sayers Statement Earrings.

I also grabbed the gorgeous Lawson bracelet to wear. (I was first to arrive at The Vintage House so I may or may not have gone through and grabbed my favorites before anyone else got there haha). I’ve also been drooling over the Vera Bradley leather collection for awhile, and this quilted crossbody caught my eye.

I’m still doing my minimalist capsule wardrobe, but now that it’s spring, white is the new black! I purchased this dress from ASOS for the #rStheCon white finale party.

We all kept our outfits pretty neutral so that the focus would be on our amazing spring accessories! Loving how everyone found items that really reflected our individual personalities and tastes.

More than a year later, Diversity Chic has become an entity of its own. It’s something bigger than a blog collaboration or monthly photoshoot– it’s like a best friend. We run into rainy days, scheduling conflicts, and other complications, but the end result is always joyous and empowering. I haven’t shared too much personal stuff on the blog lately, mostly due to lack of free time to sit down and write a full post, but I will say that having these sweet friends to reach out to for advice and counseling (or just to chat about the latest Beyonce news) has been a blessing.

Thank you to Valery, Denise, and Sevi for helping me get through these April showers. Be sure to visit their blogs to see the fabulous items they picked to showcase! And if you’re in need of some spring flair (or Mother’s Day gifts…), visit The Vintage House in historic downtown Carrollton!
