Easy Breezy Trapeze Midi

Easy Breezy Trapeze Midi | Stephanie Drenka

I’ve been quite overdue for a Thursday Threads post to link up with Valery. Actually, the entire fashion blogger side of this website has gone neglected while I’ve been running around Dallas taking outfit photos for other people haha. Last Sunday, we had plans to drive up to Oklahoma to return the car we were borrowing from Holden’s grandpa, but ended up not having to make the trip. It gave me an unexpected day off (with the exception of a few last-minute shoots) and free time to have Holden snap some pictures for me!

Of course it would be raining on said day off, so my plan to stock up on content for the next few weeks fell short. I got this outfit shot and then pictures of my shoes from another outfit >.< Best laid plans, huh? With the Dallas weather being as manic as it has been lately, I've learned to go with the flow. Rescheduling shoots due to storms, getting creative by ducking into movie theaters for impromptu indoor shoots, and just embracing the idea that there are some things you can't control, and you'll go crazy if you try!

This outfit is a bit like a metaphor for that. This flowing, comfortable midi dress from Forever 21 is perfect for staying cool in the hot summer temperatures, while still looking a little dressy. I had even put in my Luxy hair extensions for a touch of glam, but when I saw the rain clouds, I decided to toss on a hat for good measure. My talented husband designed this hat, and while I don’t necessarily like how I look in them, I’m always proud to show off his work. Since this one was a sample, I’ll link to a similar silhouette in the shop the post section. A quick swipe of red lip stain helped me pull the look together and get me out of my fashion blogging funk.

Here’s hoping that this is just the first of many outfit posts to come this summer. Trying to be more diligent about investing in my own brand and working on the blog consistently. Easier said than done, right?
