Home Sweet Home

“Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.” (Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.)

Sharing a belated house tour (as it goes on the market) this morning. Just one of the many things I had planned to do sometime over the course of the past few years, but life happens. I was always waiting to share pictures when it was more complete. Because I thought it needed more furniture, more decor, more renovations. Eventually, “more” becomes a curse rather than a commitment.

Minimalism is a journey, not a destination, and requires intention. It’s so easy to fall back into old habits of accumulating or coveting. In these parting glances, I see clearly that home is not the house in which we’ve lived. It’s not the rooms or the furniture. It is a composite of time spent, memories made, and lessons learned. Home is my heart. And this was the sweetest place to rest it in for the last five years.
