In Bloom

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” – Anaïs Nin

Anaïs Nin has always been one of my favorite writers, but I’ve been reading her work more frequently as of late. My life since coming back from Korea has been a period of uncomfortable (but necessary) growth. Her words give me comfort, reminding me that sometimes we have to be courageous in order to become who we’re meant to be.

My world has started expanding, because I’ve realized it’s not possible to hide forever in the bubble I created as a shield. Change is inevitable and sometimes (often) painful as hell. But, if you open your heart to it – the result, like these cherry blossoms, can take your breath away.
