Dear Geek Glam readers: I’m sorry that I’ve been slacking off on blog posts as of late. It’s been one crazy/beautiful month, and I haven’t had the chance to sit down and really reflect on it all. My plate might be the most full it’s been since…ever? But, so is my heart.
Where do I begin? Thanks to this blog, I have pushed beyond my comfort zone, challenged my limits, and been rewarded for it a hundred times over. I’ve found the dearest of friends through blogging with whom I share amazing, hilarious, ridiculous, poignant conversations on a daily basis. It’s my hope for everyone to be as fortunate as I have in connecting with such fascinating and kind friends.
Which leads me to an exciting announcement. One of my aforementioned fabulous new friends happens to be Jasmine, blogger at Heels & Mimosas and founder of The Southwest Blogger Society. She’s been an inspiration to me both as a blogger and businesswoman. (#girlboss!)
I’ve had the time of my life being a member of The Southwest Blogger Society and learned so much in the process. When Jasmine asked me to be the co-founder of the organization as she rebranded our group to focus on Dallas area bloggers, it was probably the proudest moment of my blogging career. The two of us worked into the wee hours of the night this weekend so we could launch Dallas Blogger Collective.
I’m so honored to be a part of an organization that emphasizes the importance of supporting each other and helping fellow bloggers achieve success. (You CAN sit with us!!) Geek Glam is living proof that being open to new ideas and people rather than excluding them can only help your brand. Blog networks should be a community, not a clique.
