CB2 ‘Tesso’ Chrome Bookcase Styling

Moving from a 3-bedroom house to an open floor plan loft has challenged us to get creative with our storage situation. With an entire spare closet filled with boxes that used to be in our garage and attic, extra shelving was a must-have. Holden and I both gravitated instantly towards this wall-mounted bookcase from CB2.

We originally wanted the black version of the bookcase, but it wasn’t available. Then we found the chrome option and loved that it would reflect all the beautiful natural light coming into our loft. The tall height works well with our 15″ ceiling, but still keeps everything within arm’s reach. Reading about the bookcase’s designer, Mark Daniel, and his love of travel, photography, as well as video games, solidified that this was totally our style!

We ended up ordering two bookcases so each of us could showcase our favorite things. Now that I’ve seen it in person, I could totally envision having more around the loft. The installation process was somewhat a labor of love for Holden, so we’ll stick with just two for now.

Styling the shelves, I thought back to the bookshelf in one of my first apartments. Built by my grandpa, I painted the shelf turquoise and went with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s decor theme. To this day, I still have my grandpa’s creation (which I’m using as a makeshift pantry in our kitchen closet). Over the years, my tastes have become more monochromatic, but I’ve realized that my love for classic style has an indefinite shelf life.
