Travelogue: Magnolia Market at the Silos

Holden’s family planned a belated Christmas celebration in Waco two weekends ago, and I’m so glad we finally got to make our pilgrimage to Chip and Joanna Gaines World – I mean, Magnolia Market.

Holden and I are both avid “Fixer Upper” fans, so we were excited to see the Silos in person. We were blessed with beautiful weather and the bluest sky. It was the perfect day to mosey around the market, and enjoy quality time with the family.

#1 piece of advice for anyone visiting Magnolia Market at the Silos…? Don’t be on your last few days of Whole30 when you go…

We started our visit with a stop in Silos Baking Co., the Magnolia bakery known for their cupcakes. I watched in envy as the rest of our group ordered their pastries, while I had three more days until I could eat grains again… FOMO.

After the bakery, we walked across the huge lawn towards the Garden shop, Magnolia Seed and Supply. The cute little shop sells gardening tools, flower-growing kits, and more. I really wish my thumb were greener, but I can barely keep a succulent alive.

Magnolia Market has the perfect picnic situation with local food truck favorites parked on the lawn, and lots of seating areas nearby. Holden and I enjoyed our Whole30 compliant juice and salad from Luna Juice, while quietly eyeing everyone else’s Co-town crepes – resisting temptation. Again, I say… do not go to Magnolia Market during Whole30 haha.

Energy-fueled from lunch, we ventured into the Market. The silo-housed store was everything I dreamed it would be. Joanna’s french country farmhouse style was reflected in each vignette. So many pretty things everywhere. It was a little overwhelming and quite crowded. I decided to take mental notes and gather inspiration so I could shop online from the comfort of home later.

Magnolia Market was just the loveliest. We’re already talking about making another trip to Waco sometime. The 1.5+ hour drive from Dallas was not bad at all. It’s also conveniently on the way to Austin/San Antonio and worth a detour. I hope you enjoy the photos below, until you’re able to visit yourself. Now please excuse me while I watch another episode of Fixer Upper and fall asleep dreaming of cupcakes and cotton stems…
