Holiday Shopping at Mockingbird Station

‘Tis the Season for… stressing over holiday shopping! Is it just me or do other people get super anxious around this time of year trying to figure out what gifts to buy for everyone? In the past, I’ve avoided driving across town to multiple places in search of the perfect present and opted to shop online instead. But sometimes I miss the personal experience of browsing stores and having that “this would be PERFECT for [blank]” moment. Mockingbird Station is the ultimate one-stop holiday shopping destination in Dallas for everyone on your list (including yourself).

In addition to having ample parking spots, what I love most about Mockingbird Station is its balance between well-known national brands and smaller, locally-owned boutiques/restaurants. Their store selection ranges from trendy indie boutique Accents all the way to Urban Outfitters.

You could really cross off your entire shopping list with one trip to Mockingbird Station. Whether you’re looking for stocking stuffers or big ticket items, there’s a perfect retailer and gift to match.
(And if you happen to find something for yourself along the way, don’t be afraid to play your own Santa once in awhile! You’ve worked hard this year to make it to the “Nice List” right?

I love the feeling when the cashier rings up your purchases at the register and you can imagine each person’s face as they open their present!

Another benefit to shopping in person at a shopping center like Mockingbird Station is discovering new things you didn’t know existed. I was so excited to find an entire “Gifts that Give Back” section at West Elm.
Shopping online can be overwhelming, because there are too many choices. Being able to browse through brick and mortar stores, where items are carefully curated and merchandised, it’s easy for the right gifts to catch your eye.

Case in point: Holden and I stumbled across this beautiful starburst coffee table at West Elm and decided to buy it together as our joint Christmas present to each other.
Holiday shopping can be exhausting. If you find yourself running low on energy, Mockingbird Station has a number of delicious restaurants and bars to help re-fuel you.

We stopped at the delightful Edith’s Pâtisserie for brunch. They have French baked goods, sweet desserts, and a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu.

I toasted to a successful shopping excursion with a refreshing glass of frosé!

A walk by the beautiful painted staircase near the Angelika Theater is a must during the hectic holiday season. I love the colorful reminder of gratitude and mindfulness.

Don’t forget to “Get On the List” by taking your photo in Santa’s chair! Have you been Naughty or Nice? (I guess I fell somewhere in the middle…)
