New Summer Ombré Hair Color from Salon 13500

New Summer Ombré Hair Color from Salon 13500 | Stephanie Drenka

It never fails… when spring/summer rolls around, I start getting antsy and ache for a change. Having grown out my natural black hair for over a year, I’ve been overdue for a new look. My poor hair has undergone some traumatic changes in the past. From multiple digital perms, to DIY dying, I finally realized that its best to leave my hair in the hands of a professional.

Until now, I’ve never stuck with one hair stylist. I typically get my hair cut at local Korean salons, because somehow I thought they understood Asian hair better. This has been hit or miss– one “miss” in particular, leaving me in a state of depression when I went in with waist-length hair for “just a trim” and walked out with a short mullet.

Once I decided that I wanted to go lighter for the summer and ombré my black hair, I researched hair salons in the area with good reviews, and found Salon 13500. I knew I had picked the right place when I called to make my appointment and was told by the stylist, Megan, that she loved a challenge! Lightening box-dyed black hair is not an easy task.

I spent pretty much my entire Saturday afternoon in the salon. Megan did an amazing job lifting the black out of my hair without frying it. After two bleach sessions, color-correction, and then toning– my boring black hair was filled with beautiful, golden, summer tones. I was so impressed by her skills and patience. She stayed past closing on a Saturday evening to make sure I got the look I wanted. I’m thrilled about my new hair style, but even more excited that I finally have a go-to stylist and salon. If you’re in the North Dallas area and looking for an excellent hair colorist, call Salon 13500 and book with Megan! Check out Salon 13500 on Facebook for more photos and info.
