Nicky Hilton was in Dallas this week promoting her new book, 365 Style, and stopped by Belk Galleria Dallas to meet and greet with fans. I was honored to be one of the lucky fashion bloggers who got to sit down with her before the public Q&A event for a private interview.
After congratulating her on her recent engagement (oh my gosh that RING), we talked about social media and how it influenced her to write 365 Style.
Right when I started becoming active on social media back in the Myspace days, and Facebook and Twitter, people would write me asking for fashion advice– what to wear for different events and certain occasions, and it started happening more frequently. It was one of the reasons I decided to write my book.
In 365 Style, there is a section dedicated to travel– advice on what to pack, and pictures/stories from some of her adventures. Nicky shared with me her fashion staple when traveling:
I will always pack a nude heel. Because it doesn’t matter what I buy– I always leave a little extra room in my suitcase because I love shopping– so I know that nude heel is going to go with whatever I buy. It’s very versatile.
Nicky’s travels and experiences have also inspired her as a designer. Her new capsule collection for eLUXE just debuted today!
I tried to put something in the collection for everybody, because I’m this New Yorker, who lived in California, who grew up on Park Avenue, and who now lives on the east side. I dress for all those parts, so you’ll see something for the preppy classic girl, or the edgy downtown girl, or the sexy girl. There’s a little bit for everyone.
