Poor Nordstrom had a bit of a technical hiccup this morning when the site couldn’t hold all of the Early Access traffic. After years of working in web development and having dealt with my fair share of hosting and database issues, I felt empathetic. (Although, I’m not sure how forgiving I would have been had I not already purchased my first order successfully hours before…)
I’ll admit that I experienced some FOMO yesterday watching other bloggers in their Nordstrom Anniversary Sale try-on sessions in-store. This whole blogging on top of having another full-time job thing is not always the easiest. But thankfully, Nordstrom has an amazing same-day delivery service, so I didn’t have to miss out on the fun for very long! I rushed home from the office this evening to find that some of my Early Access items had already arrived on my doorstep. (The rest are shipping separately, because they weren’t in-stock at my local store).
After unpacking my new items, I promptly dragged our full-length IKEA mirror into the dining room and took advantage of whatever natural light was left to take a couple outfit pics. As a photographer, it feels a little unorthodox to share mirror selfies on this blog, but since my husband is off playing volleyball with coworkers, I was left to my own devices. Thanks for bearing with me and my blurry iPhone photos… just couldn’t wait to show off some of my new favorite wardrobe essentials! Including these breathtaking riding boots from Tory Burch, which I bought in black during last year’s sale.

I’m really impressed with Nordstrom’s selection during this year’s Anniversary Sale Early Access. It was quite difficult to narrow down the items in my shopping cart. Read this first look post to see the other items I had my eye on in the wee hours of the morning. Will be excited to share more outfits (and hopefully better quality pictures) as the rest of the pieces arrive. Hope everyone who tried to shop the sale today was successful! It’s time for me to take a nap (aka go to sleep at 7pm, because this old lady is not used to pulling all-nighters anymore). Sweet NSale dreams!
