Nothing Much to Say (And That’s Okay!)

Today’s post is rather about the absence of a post. I’ve got a hard drive full of Alaska photos waiting to be edited and shared, a sponsored article/home office tour lined up, and more inspiration flowing than ever before. And yet… as the title states – here I sit, with nothing much to say. And that’s okay.

Bloggers, entrepreneurs, creatives, humans— we sometimes forget (or refuse) to give ourselves grace. We feel less productive when we’re not producing. Selling our first house and moving downtown was the best decision we could have made. Our new loft has given me the literal and figurative space to breathe, reflect, and reboot.

Oddly enough, the switch from suburbs to city has actually made life seem slower. With no commute to work, my days are longer. My morning routine consists of lounging in bed with Holden and the pups, sipping cold brew coffee, and soaking in the natural light from our 10-foot windows. I watch the sun rise and set. No matter how stressful the day might have been, I fall asleep in peace.

I look at this blog in a similar new light. It’s been both a source of comfort and chaos for the past few years. I got caught in the rat race of influencer marketing, and felt like a failure when I couldn’t keep up. I’m ready to slow down. Write to feed my soul; not a bank account. Give myself permission to rest. Stillness is not stagnation. Have faith that the words will come in their own time. Until then… a mug of coffee and spinning vinyl record will do just fine.
