Please excuse my lack of posts this weekend. It’s been a busy one, to say the least! Yesterday, we hosted an early Father’s Day celebration with my parents, brother, and sister-in-law. We grilled fajitas, and I got to use my beautiful molcajete wedding gift to make fresh guacamole. As soon as we finished eating and opening gifts, I headed to church so I could cantor for our Pentecostal mass.
Saturday afternoon was my other sister-in-law’s bridal shower. My husband’s sister was my maid of honor, and I’m hers. It seems like only yesterday that she was hosting my Jane Austen bridal shower! Their Pirates & Princesses-themed wedding will be in September. I went with them to Port Aransas a few weekends ago to shoot their engagement photos.
The theme of the bridal shower was Paris, with hot pink and black as the color scheme. Guests were asked to wear Little Black Dresses for attire. I wore my favorite black shift dress from ASOS. My fellow bridesmaid and I had fun planning the pink, Parisian details! I’ve never been to Paris *insert sadface* but luckily, Pinterest had lots of inspiration from which to draw ideas. Here are some snapshots from the shower…

You two did a great job putting together the event. This is weird, but I find myself feeling a little jealous of the great food that’s served at showers. I need to talk my daughter into going to tea with me.
Stephanie Drenka says
Haha, you mean bachelor parties and manly events don’t include cucumber sandwiches?
Rick says
๐ And no presents either!

You did such an awesome job with this! I only hope I can work magic like this for the baby shower I am hosting for my sweet friend! She’s having a girl, so lots of pink to go around.

Thanks, Sevi!! Oh, pink baby shower!! Love love love. Hoping one of my gal pal’s has a baby girl someday soon so I can plan one, too! My two geeky must-haves for any party… printables and an instagram hashtag hehe.
