HMK is an amazing new boutique-style retail experience from Hallmark, with three locations in the country. Luckily for those of us in Dallas/Fort Worth, one of said locations happens to be in Southlake Town Square! I was thrilled when HMK reached out to me, as I’ve been hearing such great things about the store. Perfectly timed with my Christmas shopping, HMK helps you create beautiful gifts, cards, and accessories, bringing together innovative tools and technologies with a fun and reimagined approach to retail.
HMK is unique in that it allows you to co-create gifts (or items for yourself). I went into HMK searching for a personalized present for my sister-in-law. She’s a fashionista and works for a major department store, which makes it difficult to find gifts for her that she doesn’t have already. My brother and her got married a little over a year ago, and so I wanted to give something with her new initials monogrammed. Modern iPhone cases, pillows, throws, makeup bags, aprons and totes are just a few of the gifts ready for colorful emblazoning of the recipient’s name, initials or letter.
Upon walking into the store, I was overwhelmed with the plethora of product offerings. HMK has a wide selection of home goods, accessories, jewelry, and more. In this spirit of their parent brand, HMK has an incredible selection of greeting cards that can be customized in-store with photos and text. It seemed like fate when I saw an example with my name on it!
There was literally a card for anyone and any situation, even a Christmas card for a brother-in-law and his wife. After perusing the store several times over and not being able to narrow my selection down, I asked a sales associate for advice on a popular personalized item. She suggested one of their scarves, which could be embroidered. It was perfect for my stylish sister-in-law! After choosing the scarf, I was able to customize the monogram design and thread color.
I paid for my order and was informed that it would be available for pick-up within a week. Within 4 days, I received a phone call letting me know the scarf was ready!
I could not have been more happy with the final result. The embroidery was flawless and the colors looked beautiful.
We celebrated Christmas with my family on Sunday, exchanging gifts at my brother and sister-in-law’s condo before seeing Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert.
