Truth time… I avoided downloading Pokémon Go on my phone, because I have a bad habit of getting addicted to RPG games. Maple Story, Destiny, Borderlands 2… cute avatars, leveling up, and loot are my Kryptonite. But when my husband Holden demonstrated the game on his phone during our dinner date last week, I couldn’t hold out any longer. Obviously, I’m hooked. The game is such a unique combination of nostalgia and high-tech. I love seeing favorite characters from childhood in Augmented Reality.
I’ve also enjoyed watching the popularity of the brand gain new fans, especially because Holden designed some of the recent Pokémon merchandise in the marketplace today. His hats are so popular that even Lady Gaga sported one of his Pikachu styles. Talk about a #ProudWifey moment!
