A realization on the eve of my 34th birthday:
I don’t wish to be any other age than I am right now,
in any other body,
or living any other life.
Newfound security, only after my self-confidence was tested to its furthest limits.
I could break down or buck up.
So I chose the latter.
I chose myself.
And I’d do it over and over and over again,
because what it took to get me from 23 to 33 is nothing short of a miracle.
I may not be “happy” every day,
but I am stronger for it.
