Style Spotlight // Holden Hostetler | Stephanie Drenka

Today’s Style Spotlight feature is dedicated to the unsung hero of this blog… my husband, Holden Hostetler. By day, he is a talented headwear designer for Bioworld Merchandising. Check out just a few of his amazing designs that are currently in the marketplace:

By night/weekend, Holden is the photographer behind my outfit posts as well as our Diversity Chic pictures. He goes above and beyond the call of duty for a typical “beau-tographer” and even designed my logo as well as the branding for some of my blogger friends. (see: Ware is the Vodka!? and Fortuitous Foodies)

He has supported this blog from the beginning– whether encouraging me to post whenever my motivation starts waning or spending countless evenings eating Panda Express or Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches at home while I’m out at fancy blogger events.

He even accompanies me to photoshoots on occasion, and doesn’t blink when I ask him to pose for me so I can test the lighting, etc… This weekend, I thought it would be fun to take a few more “test” shots than usual and compile them for a whole post. I hope you enjoy Holden’s official blog debut!

SD: Tell me about your outfit– why did you pick this shirt to wear?
HH: Windowpane is part of the “grid” trend that’s popular right now. I like open type plaids.

SD: You typically design your headwear lines a year ahead– how do you find the trends for upcoming seasons?
HH: Trend research at stores, music festivals, and other events. Paying attention to street style and fashion trend forecasts from WGSN.

SD: How would you describe your personal style?
HH: Uhhhhhhh… cheap? I like to find good deals. Casual? I like button ups and vnecks! I also like textured materials– like heathers. Textures and fabrics are more important to me than the graphic on the shirt.

SD: What do you think of my style?
HH: I don’t know… don’t you usually wear black?

SD: What is it like being married to a fashion blogger?
HH: Lots of lonely nights haha. Just kidding… a lot of selfies and waiting to eat my food. I have to take a lot of pictures of you and your friends. But we get cool stuff like the Sprout!

SD: Wasn’t it fun being on the other side of the camera? Are you ready to start your own fashion blog now?
HH: Let’s just see how this post goes first!
