Suja Juice

Suja Juice | Stephanie Drenka

I’ve been reading reviews of Suja juice online and was very intrigued to try it. Was so excited to learn that it is carried in most Whole Food stores. Last night, I had dinner with an old college friend at a restaurant down the street from Whole Foods. After pigging out on Korean beef tenderloin, and thinking about my wedding dress and an upcoming audition (that might require a dance portion and therefore, fitting into my leotard…) I decided now was as good a time as any to give Suja juice a shot!

It took me awhile to locate the juice in the store- had to ask an associate for help- but was overwhelmed by all of the choices! I remembered on the website that there was a certain order for the cleanses that I didn’t write down, so I decided, instead, to start with the Master Cleanse. It is basically a pre-packaged solution for the traditional Master Cleanse– consisting of lemon, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup. I’ve tried the cleanse before, but gave up quickly because of the work involved with making the juice regularly. This seemed like an ideal solution!

I also picked up a bottle of Green Supreme for the fiance to try.

So far, I’m very impressed with the juice. Though the Green Supreme juice initially made my fiance cringe because he was expecting something more fruity, he came to the conclusion that it tasted pretty good considering the kale ingredient.

My Master Cleanse juice doesn’t taste significantly different from the homemade version– which I actually love- sweet, tart, and spicy! But the convenience and ease factor really sold me. I’ve got my fridge stocked for a couple days, but will probably go back for another few bottles now that I know how good they are.

I’m not doing the full cleanse as instructed, but going to try and eat clean for the week– raw foods when possible. I can’t risk the fatigue of not getting enough calories that is often attributed to the Master Cleanse. Just hoping for a little detox boost. Will try and write a full review after a few days, so I can see if the effects are noticeable.
