Sunday Chambray

Sunday Chambray | Stephanie Drenka

Today has been a lazy one. This week was rough, being sick and having a broken A/C. I had little energy to do anything, let alone get dressed up and take pictures outside in the heat. Now that my sniffles are improving, and the cold air is circulating inside again, I felt like I should get out and enjoy a little sunshine. One of my favorite things about our house is the tree swing in the yard. Fought (nicely) with the husband to keep it, because he thinks it’s an eyesore. I’m so glad I won that battle– it’s wonderful to sit out there and relive simpler times, when a swing at a playground was the best form of entertainment.

I’ve been dying to have the perfect chambray shirt to wear on lazy days like these. After several failed options that fit too tightly or were shorter than I had hoped, I found this one at Kohl’s on a random shopping excursion. It’s soft, a beautiful light blue color for spring, and just the right length.

I’ve finally accepted that my metabolism is not what it used to be, and it’s time to retire all the skinny jeans that stopped fitting me two sizes ago. Sundays can be depressing enough at the end of the weekend, without making it worse by trying to squeeze into too-tight pants. Tossed the old jeans aside in favor of these white Current/Elliott boyfriend ones— super comfy!! I love the combination of chambray and white.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and had at least a few moments to unwind before Monday rears its ugly head!
