Enter Cult Gaia’s Ark Bag, which gained a cult-like following last year. I wrote about it back in 2017, but wanted to update this post with some new colorways and styles.
The showstopping bamboo purse was modeled after a Japanese picnic basket, and was probably been flooding your instagram feed last year. It was sold out nearly everywhere, but Shopbop currently has it in stock.

One thing I’ve struggled with in developing my minimalist fashion style is feeling bored or plain. Without bright colors or patterns, it’s easy to feel like you’re blending in or going unnoticed. Cult Gaia’s must-have handbag stops people in their tracks.

It’s a slippery slope trying to cut back on spending while being tempted with the newest shiny objects on social media. With the Gaia’s Ark bag, though, I felt that it was helping me fulfill my minimalist ambitions. As my husband asked as we were shooting pictures, “But what can you put in that? It’s see-through!”

It’s true… the beauty of the bag is in it’s emptiness. The design inspires me to pare down my purse to the essentials only and not be weighed down by unnecessary clutter. It frequently accompanied me on my travels last year:
