Favorite Basics from the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

It’s the Half Yearly Sale at Nordstrom through Memorial Day weekend, which means that select items are up to 40% off regular prices. This is extremely tempting, and it is easy for recovering shopaholics like myself to go overboard. Curb your spending by taking advantage of the sale to invest in classic, high-quality items that will get plenty of wear. For more minimalist shopping tips, read this post.

1) The Block Sandal $127.95 $76.77 (40% off)

If you haven’t yet invested in a pair of strappy sandals for the summer, now is the time to do it! These Free People ones have a 2 1/4″ heel, so you can wear them for everyday purposes.

2) The Boyfriend Jean $135.00 $89.99 (33% off)

Madewell is my absolute favorite clothing brand right now. Their apparel rings true to the name, and it’s my go-to for staples like denim and blouses. I love this pair of vintage high-waisted boyfriend jeans because the distressing looks natural, and not super distracting.

3) The “Perfect Roll” Tunic $42.00 $27.90 (33% off)

If you stock up one thing from this year’s sale, I highly recommend that it be this shirt from Lush. I own it in black, ivory, and olive because it’s THAT comfortable and versatile. It’s light enough to wear in the spring/summer, and easily layered during fall and winter. Dress it up for work or with boyfriend jeans (like the Madewell ones) for a more casual look. I love the length of the tunic and the flattering neckline. The rolled sleeve is buttoned, so you don’t have to keep fidgeting with it throughout the day.

4) Off-The-Shoulder Top $49.00 $24.50 (50% off)

If you’ve followed me over the years, I’m sure it’s become clear that the off-the-shoulder silhouette is a favorite of mine. This slub knit top from Hinge is less than $25 during the sale and comes in 4 different colors. You may want to stock up on a couple options to get you through the summer!

5) Striped Tie-Front Top $79.50 $39.99 (50% off)

As much as I love Madewell products (which I’ve already discussed in this post), their prices can be pretty steep. I tend to wait until the shirts are discounted before I add them to my cart. (I got my beloved Central blouse for 30% off during another sale event). I’m so excited that this one is on sale for 50% off right now. I’m all about tie front shirts for the spring/summer, and this is a perfect addition to my capsule wardrobe.
