Blue is the new black. Last night, my fiancé and I attended his company’s annual holiday party. It’s our second year going together as a couple, and my third year attending (I used to work at the same company), but this was the first year I didn’t show up in my traditional little black dress.
Holden’s navy suit was the only one that currently fits him, and I always like us to be coordinated for semi-formal events. I didn’t own navy dresses, so I hopped onto asos.com to find something. Last year, I ordered a strapless black sequined dress from the same site, but this year I wanted something more classic and less flashy. This Vila dress was exactly what I had in mind.
I love that it’s casual enough that I could wear it for regular work events, and it was still easy enough to dress up with some accessories, like these navy blue glitter high-heeled booties (also from asos).
I was pretty pleased with how the outfit came together. And doesn’t my future husband know how to rock a bow tie??

Great look! Merry Christmas! And yes, your fiance can rock the bow tie. 🙂

You both looked great for the event–he definitely pulls off a bow-tie very well (a great trait which is often under-appreciated)! 🙂
